ROUND 1 - SENIORS

An awful start for John Gilson having a race incident with Dave Markham resulting in an on-board fire which burned through his hull and ruined his Mtroniks speed controller. There was still some excellent racing and some exciting action at many buoys giving the onlookers something to cheers about. The season has only just started but John Baker has already marked his intentions with a new course record in heat 3 of 18 laps and 10 seconds. I wonder how things will pan out in round 2?

ROUND 1 - JUNIORS
A disappointing turnout of only 2 juniors but that do not detract from some excellent racing and a round of applause from spectators after the racing finished. 'New kid on the block' William Bell came out on top with some very tight cornering, I guess his Dad has had him put in some practice before he started racing. Well done Will. We will definitely have a new name on the trophy this year as Luke Burton has retired from Club 500 to join the staff as a timer/caller so it's all up for grabs. Let's hope that we have a few more juniors in round 2 to make it more interesting.

ROUND 2 - SENIORS
A change of fortune for John Gilson this time winning heat one by just 2 seconds from John Baker. John Foster had a bust up with Dave Markham resulting in a lost top and valuable time for John, even so he made up ground on all other boats finishing heat 1 in 3rd place. Fozzie redeemed himself in heat 2 with a 2 second victory over John Gilson but with a great last heat, getting over the finish line with just 1 second to spare John Baker won the day with a 16 lap last heat. (Too many Johns in the sport!)
